Today was a strange one alright. Highlights are vesting fight, Austin High losing volleyball game in first round of district, Boy Scouts at recording studio, Marietta major fight let down on forgetting to do some work, and Brian Gannon leaving RGM.
So first thing to start the day was a fight between Parker and myself about vesting and if it was doing any good. Why do I have to have this fight so many times a week??? Lord give me strength. The rest of the morning and day were good for Parker.
Marietta was required to be at Austin High to help on set up and take down for the district game. They lost 3-1 to Westwood in the first round. Needless to say that was sad and disappointing.
The boy scout troop 5 went to a recording studio last night, where we heard a guy talk about working there, and how some of the equipment works. It was pretty cool, and kept the boys interested for over an hour, that is really saying something, when you can keep the attention of 30 boys from ages 11 to 17 for over 60 minutes.
The final act of the evening was Marietta not doing known homework. She is really bad at estimating how long things take. She really cannot plan work load and procrastinates until the last minute. We were up until past midnight finishing the report as it took about 2 1/2 hours to write not 1/2 hour she estimated. I think for the rest of this week and really when she gets home from heifer we will be making a plan chart, her estimates and the actual time that it took to complete the work. I think if she see's the time spent versus her estimates she will get better at estimates.
Finally a long time employee at RGM left yesterday. Brain Gannon was a pretty cool dude and I am sorry to see him go. My friend Margot had the perfect description of toxicity vs value when dealing with people in a small company. The fact it is easier to talk about performance versus attitude? I will never know the whole back story, but it has been an interesting talking with Margot about the overall company and the way we work.
A friend published this link yesterday by Tom Woods.

My only comment. Is this guy insane. He did no real research on the Glass Steagall and the fact that it had already been disassembled over the prior 30 years before the death blow in 1999. It makes me laugh a lot, that someone can publish without reasearch.
Well that is about it for today. As the saying goes this is my life so far.
