RESTART
So, once more into the breach my friends. I am going to try and start posting at lunchtime during the week. We shall see how that works out.So in the aftermath of "Super" Tuesday and the celebration of Texas Independence day I am will post a few things I know.
SUPER TUESDAY
Democrats : ( Real Clear )Clinton or Sanders. Does anyone else look at the polls and realize that Hillary Clinton currently can only bet Donald Trump in the general election. Real Clear Polities shows pretty solidly that Clinton will lose to Cruz, Rubio and even Kasich. These same polls show Sanders beating everyone. My question remains, is no one looking at the long game? Hillary Clinton is playing the long game and in all likelihood will win the nomination (Let's not talk about the superdelegates) and then lose the general election to Cruz or Rubio.
Republicans : ( Real Clear)
What is the Grand Old Party thinking? Donald Trump? Seriously? The man seems to play very loose with the facts and with his history. In addition can you see Melanija Knavs as the first lady? Yeah, she is good looking, but first lady?
I looked for 2 minutes and found this:

and I was not really trying.
Ted (Trusted) Cruz. Really, the man shut down the government when he did not get his way. Not sure that is trustworthy. In addition I have a problem with someone who invokes God every 5 minutes.
“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.” -- Barry Goldwater
Ted Cruz appears to be one of these "preachers".
I would go on with the Republican slate but in the interest of equal time only the top 2 on both sides of the election.
TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY
San Jacinto
Well happy independence day. March 2nd 2016. Today is the 180th anniversary of Texas Independence. This is an important day to native and adopted Texans. Here ( 10 Fun facts ) for you native and out of town people.
This is a picture of the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site. If you don't know why this is here...well read about it. If you don't care that is a more serious problem.
It's Big
Yeah, it is hella big. 268,820 square miles. This picture is for the rest of the South. Yeah, we are big. Ya'll could mostly fit inside our state.
It's Smart
Take a look at the rankings of our universities of higher learning. Rice, University of Texas and Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, Trinity, Baylor...etc the list goes on and on. The top 3 listed are always in the Top 100 Universities in the US and often in the Top 20. Make fun, but how many other states can claim 3 of the top 20 in a national list?
CLOSING COMMENT
A side note is the fact that my lovely daughter is dating a boy who has never been to Texas and posted this on February 17th. Ragging Texas Article . Hate to inform him, but he did not really make me thrilled. How can you rag a place you have never been? Plus, the girl he is dating (NAMELY MY LITTLE GIRL), was born and raised in Texas. It is a great place and a great state. You know the main difference between Texas and the other 49 is how we treat crazy. In most states they lock them away. Here in Texas we put them on the front porch to wave as people walk by and in some cases elect them to the office of Governor (We know which ones we are talking about).
So happy independence day ya'll.
