Helping Hand
This weekend was the helping hand debutante ball in Austin Texas. My little girl, the one in the middle was "presented" to Austin. Such a throw back to a time so long ago. A great time was had. All this college freshman kids. The future is so bright and the world is full of opportunity. I am looking forward to their views. They are so excited and excitable. It makes me happy. The list from Left to Right. Morgan, Marietta and Barbra.
The girls had so much fun and the boys looked very "dapper" in there tux and tails.
Look at those smiling faces? They are so very happy and very young. The list from Left to Right. David, Morgan, Katherine, Marietta and Ford.
The ball was a major success and I thank Jim Spencer for Emceeing the event.
Birthday
Sunday was Marietta's 19th birthday. We ate lunch at Hanabi, she loves sushi and Susan loves Hanabi. As a surprise we were given this
IT was quite tasty. Marietta was happy and a good time was had prior to sending her back to Auburn. I already miss that little girl.
Child rearing
Today my son and I butted heads again. This weekend, like his last birthday, was all about Marietta and the debutante ball. He did a great job. He smiled and had a decent time, but the focus was no where near him. By the time Marietta left on Sunday to go back to Auburn he was done with being nice. The result was a selfishness I have not seen in a while. He asked for math help at lunch, and I offered to help whenever he would ask. At 10:30 last night I mentioned he had not asked, and was too busy spending time watching TV and playing video games. The net-net was him being mad. This morning he continued that anger at me. The result he has not mastered the new material and will not ask for help because this might show some weakness or acceptance of a mistake on his part. HELP!!!!! What I would give to know how to navigate these new waters.
Closing
Well that is all that is new sports fans.
