20110828-Today was a good Day

Well we all got up this morning, and after a lot of wrangling, it was decided that we would skip church as there were many sleepy heads and lazy bottoms.

Parker actually rolled out of bed, realized it was Sunday and morning, and went to do his Vest, Saline, Cayston without a fight or battle. I am still reeling from that decision.

Afterwards, we (Parker and myself) enjoyed a lovely breakfast of french toast. Susan who had a egg over easy on toast. Marietta had cereal, she hates eggs in all shape forms and fashions in most cases. I have to admit I love to cook breakfast, and appreciate my children/child eating it.

Marietta and Parker cleaned up without complaint. Again a surprise, making me nervous a bit that they want something, but that did not happen. After clean up, Marietta, Parker and myself went to the pool store. It is terrifying how expensive chlorine has become. We are up to $190 for 100 lbs. That is a lot since we are using 2 lbs a day plus water. We then went to the Academy Warehouse to get a pair of ankle weights for Marietta. 3 lbs per foot. This should help her vertical leap, if she will wear them whenever she is not at school or working out! We shall see. Fingers crossed and breath held.(lol).

We then hooked up with the Talberts to pick up my Igloo chest and croquet set. That was a 1 p.m. and it was 110 degrees at that time, and 140 on the practice field. It is funny that some our friends have moved to the highly competitive world of Westlake, where they are willing to let 11 and 12 year old boys practice football in 140 degree temperatures. "I think this is insane practicing in this heat", and yet you drink of the kool-aid and let your child practice. I wonder if it has to do with the water in Westlake, or perhaps it is part of the HOV?

When we got home, Marietta had to hook up with her buddies at the pool, while Parker and I went to the gym. We had a great workout.
Last night we swam and cooked out. Hamburgers and Cowboy burgers. It was tasty, and we had a lot of fun. Laughing and eating together. Parker said the blessing last night which was again a new trend.

After dinner Parker did his cayston without issue and then to bed. Marietta on the other hand had a Spanish/Computer issue. I got upset for waiting on homework until 8 p.m. on a Sunday night, but eventually we figured out that the link was in error and not compatible with the MAC OS. The link requires technology over 6 years old, and we no longer have a computer capable of doing this technology. It is a real pain.

Well that is all for the day, but as ICE CUBE said.
