Strange Do's and a Past Remembered

So sports fans, on April 26th, 2010 my beloved mother passed away. Since my father had passed away on April 8th of 2008 and my mother would not sign a will I have had to deal very closely with my family.

On that note, the mother of my nephew called me at 4:50 p.m. screaming and yelling in the phone at my younger brother. Seems she and my little brother Jon were having a fight. For whatever reason, she called our house. This is becoming a regular occurrence. The two of them, while not married, seem to co-exist in this death spiral. Since they have been together since they were 16 years old, and are now 40, their 24 year love/hate relationship is a thing to behold.

Things to note about them.
1. They have a child together, my nephew who is 15 years old.
2. The love each other and cannot seem to be totally apart.
3. The hate each other and cannot allow the other to be with someone else.
4. My nephew's mother has called the police on my brother for domestic violence.
5. My brother has been thrown in Jail for this.
6. My brother has a college education
7. My brother has only once gotten a W-2. In 1986 while working for Baskin and Robbins where he meet my nephews mother.
8. He claims she got pregnant to keep him.
9. He claims he is not on the birth certificate (A Lie).
10. The both lie so much I don't think either knows the truth anymore.

So, for the first time in over a week, my wife and I were taking a nap. The first real rest we have had since before my mother died. There have been lots and lots of events this spring and summer sports fans, and she calls. Just when I think we have escaped the clutches of my family they reach out and grab us back into their bosom. Why me I ask, have I not suffered enough? Why does that sound so familiar? I googled and came up with Frankenstein and Monty Python. Interesting since it seems that my current life is both a comedy and horror show.

So, a quick run down on the events of my little brothers life since April.
1. April 17th. - We put my mom in Hospital
2. April 20th. - Mom is diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer.
3. April 24th. - We move mom to Chistopher's House in Austin.
4. April 26th. - My mom dies.
5. April 27th. - My Sister, the pope, arrives from Wales
6. May 1st. - First encounter with my Sister and little brother at my parents house, they fight over a silly poster that we had given my father several christmas earlier. My sister by the way folks is a real piece of work. A holier than thou Catholic, with all the rites and pomp down pat, but without any true faith or belief. She does not understand that faith and belief are not tied to rites and process, but in the actions one does day in and day out. I know too many people who are closer to being christians who "walk the walk" than people who espouse their views on everyone. Back to the dialogue
7. May 12th. Meet with the Lawyers to get papers signed for executor of the estate, my older brother and myself are chosen. At the same meeting my sister, the one who lives in Wales, tells us that she has cancelled my parents season tickets to Texas A&M games. This is to hurt my little brother. For the bast 10 days they have struck out and hurt each other in the most cruel and evil of all ways.
8. May 12th. Later that night, my little bother seeks into my sisters room and takes my mothers wedding rings from her suitcase. The reason she has them in a suitcase is still beyond me.
9. June 23rd. My little brother is arrested in Deluth MN, crossing the US/Canadian border for drug paraphernalia. He spends 5 days in jail, while we get $10,000 out of the estate to bail him out and send it to Deluth.
10. He gets out with $2,100 in charges and fines.
11. He returns none of the $7,900 to the estate and instead spends it.
12. August 3rd 2010, he is arrested for domestic squabble and thrown in Jail for 3 days
13. August 15th, 2010. After trying to get the keys to the estates car for 3 days, allows me to drive him to Caldwell Texas, 2 hours each way to pick up and repair his car. Whee what a way to spend a day prior to my Son's admittance to Dell's Children. My last day with him not being tied down to something and I spend it in a car driving to Caldwell. He did say "Thank you" in the end.

We now we are up to today. There are alot of back stories that I will write about in the coming months, but that is the rough schedule, except to say my nephew's mother has told me she is having him arrested again today for the same thing. Guess he is going to prison this time.

That's all for now sports fans.
