Yesterday, my son had a PICC line installed. For those of you unfamiliar with a PICC line see, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripherally_inserted_central_catheter. Basically it is a long tube that was inserted into my boys arm, threaded though the vein, into his superior vena cava. WOW, that high school biology did pay off!!!
When finished it has allowed the hospital to draw blood and give him his IV antibiotics, yes the one that causes "red man syndrome" without any real pain. Since he is going to have to have this in him for 2 weeks, it is the perfect device since it does not cause issues with the vein and does not need to be moved or replaced for up to 30 days. Hooray for modern science and medicine.
Also yesterday I got to go to court to probate my mom's death. Yes fans my mom died on April 26th of this year. I am going to have to post a ton on this later, but for right now my brother and I were named co-executors of the estate. Since the only real asset is the homestead, the only real solution will be the sale of the house and distribution of the assets. That said, I am a bit curious about the number of checks that have been issued under my older brothers control in the past 2 1/2 years since my fathers death. I think I am going to have to get 2 years of checks stubb's etc and see what has been going on here. Me thinks there my be issues.
Well that is it sports fans. The big news is we have 17 days until the Horns first game, in Houston. While that should be a nice tune up never underestimate the Rice Owls. They are a pretty smart group of young men.
