This morning at 5:30 a.m. I was awoken to give Pud his tylenol. This is to stop his "red man syndrome" when he receives his "vancomycin" IV. So at 6:00 a.m. Sarah, who is a god send of a nurse, was quizzing me on what to look for in signs of infection, making sure I obeyed the sterile protocol. By 6:10 a.m. Pud was hooked up to his "vanco" and I had passed my final test. 4.5 hours of sleep, a Q&A session from a very skilled nurse, while hooking my son up to his medicine. It was a bit nerve racking, but nevertheless pretty cool.
I asked afterwards about the ease of doing this, and Sarah said "You would be surprised how many people cannot manage the process". I have to admit I am surprised, but then again I mastered walking and chewing gum at the early age of 23!
Yesterday was a good day at work also. Got the July reconciliation for US Equities caught up with all the bills we have received at this time. Digging deeper I discovered a potential issue with NSCC fees, but that needs to be determined.
On the home front, my daughter got her first iPhone. I am so proud of her. She saved her money to pay for the data plan. I told her if she paid a year in advance for the data plan I would let her buy one, and by gum she did.
This whole week has been wonderful for her. She has managed her young life, helped us in dealing with Pud in the hospital. She has watered the plants, taken care of the dogs, and managed to get herself ready and to volleyball practice each day. What a great girl/young lady.
Well that is all for now.
