Always did love the fact that today is like a command "March Forth" LOL. Don't have any idea why I have always thought that one was funny, but have always chuckled since I was a little kid.
So my son, a life scout, starting on the road to Eagle is missing 6 merit badges to complete. Cooking, he is missing one requirement. Citizenship in the community, I will get him to write the paper and turn it in to John Chamblis and get that one closed. Communications, Family Life, Personal Fitness and Citzenship in the Nation. I think by the end of Maine trip he will have only 3 left to knock out and the Eagle project. Lets hope he gets on top of these.
On Friday my darling daughter will be 18. Seems like only yesterday that she was born. I have watched this little baby grow into a beautiful young woman. My current advice to her is to be true to who you are at all times. There will always be someone taller, faster, smarter, richer, more accomplished et al, but in the end you must live in your own skin, and if you are false to yourself or to others it will always come back to haunt you.
Final note today....
Wonder why this happens. Education is the key to everything. If you educate people, they will make better choices, become more productive and result in a higher standard of living all the way around. Look at what happened after WWII and the GI Bill allowed a generation of veterans to go to school. We rose to the highest standard of living in the world. Invest in people and you will always reap the benefits.
